Police ID Man Found Shot To Death In Southeast DC Trash Can

The Metropolitan Police Department has released new details after human remains were found in a Southeast DC trash can.

Kwame Keith, 25, who has no fixed address, has been identified by investigators as the previously unidentified man who was found in the 1800 block of Fairlawn Avenue SE riddled with gunshot wounds.

Keith's body was found shortly after 7:35 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, police say.

Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, it was determined that the man's cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and it was ruled a homicide.

No information about a possible suspect or motive behind the shooting has been released by the department.
